These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made with our consultants (over phone or by email) as well as online bookings made on this website.

It is a condition of any booking or transaction made with CheckMyFares.com Pty Ltd that you are 18 years of age or older. It is also a condition of any booking or transaction that you have carefully read and have agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions outlined below, you should not complete your booking with CheckMyFares.com Pty Ltd.

Definitions

References to “us”, “we” and/or “our” in these booking Terms and Conditions forth with shall mean CheckMyFares.com.

The use of the terms “you”, “your” , “customer”, “traveller” and/or “passenger” in this document shall refer to the person/s entering into a transaction, making a booking, or engaging the services of CheckMyFares.com in any capacity, be it through email, website, telephone or otherwise, on their own account, or on the behalf of others.

The term “carrier” shall be understood to refer to any third-party provider, including but not limited to airline/s, land and sea travel providers, with whom you are also entering into an agreement with. These agreements are entered as a direct result of making a booking with CheckMyFares.com Pty Ltd.

The term "booking" shall mean any services and bookings made with CheckMyFares either online, by phone or in person.

The term “booked” shall mean a booking in pogress which may not be confirmed or ticketed.

The term “ticketed” shall mean a booking is confirmed and ticketed.

The terms “fees” and/or “charges” shall refer to amounts charged by CheckMyFares in addition to any airline/s fees and/or charges.

The term “fares” shall refer to the amount quoted for flights.

The term “net fare” shall refer to the net cost per ticket, quoted by the airline, less any agency commission or merchant fees

The terms “tickets” and/or “e-tickets” refer to a ticket issued by any airline, cruise ship, train or any other method of transportation.

The terms “approve” and/or “approval” shall refer to consent given by you via email, online or by telephone, on your own account or on the behalf of others for which you have authority.

Refunds

When booking with CheckMyFares.com, all airfares comply with the individual Airline's Fare Rules, and refunds can only occur in cases where the Airline states that it is a refundable fare or the Airline is offering to make a full or partial refund. A refund may be contingent on the recovery of funds from the supplier. We do retain amounts relating to our expenses incurred. These fees are listed below. In some cases, the carrier may only offer a FTC (future travel credit) instead of a refund, our fees will still apply. This is at the discretion of the Airline or carrier. In some cases we may offer you a CheckMyFares FTC which will have a value-added component or reduction or waiver of our fees. In the case of hardship, you may request a cash refund (as per standard terms and conditions) instead of a CheckMyFares FTC.

All refund requests must be in writing and emailed to us at:

CheckMyFares will refund back to the customer the lesser of either; 100% of the nett (less any agents commission or margin we received) amount we receive from the Airline, less our cancellation fees, or 100% of the nett fare paid by the customer at the time of booking less any agent commission or margin we received and less our cancellation fees. For all refunds or suppliers, FTC's (future travel credits) the following Cancellation Fees will apply per ticket; This is in addition to any additional charges from any ticketing consolidator, agent, travel provider or Airline;

Cancellations to Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings will incur a fee of $55 per ticket in addition to supplier fees. Cancellations to International bookings (excluding Trans-Tasman bookings) will incur a fee of $250 per ticket in addition to supplier fees. We make no guarantee or warranty that any refund will be available to you by your airline.

In some situations, where requested, we may be able to assist with obtaining a refund (either total or partial from the airline) where you change or cancel your booking. We will support applicable cases with your airline but cannot guarantee any success.

Refunds where applicable, can take several months to fully process and return funds to you. Approved special waivers may take longer for the airline to process, depending on their individual policies.

Passports & Visas

You are advised that all Travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and that many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return. It is important that you ensure that you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. The passenger accepts any and all responsibility in ensuring they have understood ¬and prepared for – all such requirements of their travel and accepts all consequences that may arise from failing to do so.

Any fines, penalties, payments, delays or expenditures incurred as a result of a Travellers documents not meeting the requirements of authorities will be their r sole responsibility (except to the extent caused by fault on our part) It is the Traveller’s responsibility to ensure they attain and have present all relevant visas that may be required on their travels.

If you require information regarding visas, passports and other travel document requirements for your trip, you are required to contact the relevant authority, consulate, embassy or other government body to obtain the required information directly. If at any stage you obtain such information from our website, our Guest Support Centre or any member of our staff, you understand and accept that this information is general in nature and is to be treated as such. It is your responsibility as a traveller to confirm and check the validity and accuracy of information provided to you.

If you are travelling to the United States, please see https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov for important information regarding compulsory pre-registration for their visa waiver program (“ESTA”).

If you are travelling to Canada, please see https://www.travel-canadavisa.com/ for important information regarding compulsory pre-registration for their visa waiver program ("eTA").

All Australian and New Zealand passport holders also require an ESTA or Canadian eTA visa. These must be applied for at least three business days before travel. If your ESTA or eTA is nor approved or you do not apply in time, this is not grounds for a refund of airfare.

Australian passport holders will not be able to enter the United States without a valid ESTA (or visa). Or Canada without a Please note, you may not meet the eligibility requirements of ESTA and may be required to obtain a visa. In the event this happens, any penalties incurred will be the sole responsibility of the Traveller.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover your travel arrangements. Travel insurance is also strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel.

If the traveller declines Travel Insurance, CheckMyFares.com Pty Ltd will not be responsible in the event of any incidents pertaining to Travel Insurance Claims and will not be held responsible or accountable in any event.

Travel Advice

CheckMyFares.com recommends that you contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website at www.smartraveller.gov.au for general travel advice, as well as specific advice (including safety alert levels) relating to the destination you wish to visit. You can also register your travel plans with DFAT, so that you may be more easily contacted in an emergency.

Prices

All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. The price is only guaranteed once a Ticket is issued. Please note that prices displayed are subject to change by reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes, airfare increases and errors in fare prices.

Payments & Fraud

We take your credit card security seriously. CheckMyFares.com Pty Ltd takes all reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

We may ask for you to verify your identity after you have received your receipt. Please ensure you look out for any follow-up emails or text messages. Should you receive a request for this additional identification information, a response must be received within the timeframe specified in the email, in order to issue your ticket for the price at which you purchased.

The receipt of any emails after the stated time frame may result in auto cancellation of your booking with no notice given.

CheckMyFares.com reserves the right to, at any stage, cancel a booking and refund monies back to the original form of payment, should we deem any transaction potentially fraudulent.

Flexi Ticket

The Flexi Ticket permits unlimited date changes of flights and CheckMyFares change fee is waived. For the first date change CheckMyFares will also waiver any airline change fees. Flexi Ticket is offered by CheckMyFares only and is not offered by the airline. All change requests must be submitted via the Customer Support page, a minimum of 48 hours prior to flight departure.

A Flexi Ticket allows unlimited date changes with the following conditions:

  1. All rebooked flights must be made in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and changes must be advised a minimum 48 hours before the original time of departure.
  2. Only dates/times can be changed. The Flexi Ticket does not allow change of airline, change of name or change of route.
  3. The Flexi Ticket does permit upgrading to a different cabin, or booking class, on the same flight.
  4. Date changes are only permitted for departing and origin cities. The Flexi Ticket does not all stop overs to be extended.
  5. In the event the flight is cancelled by the airline, the amount towards the Flexi Ticket will be forfeited.
  6. The first date change on a Flexi Ticket will incur no change fees from CheckMyFares or the airline. A fare or tax difference may apply and would be paid by the customer. All subsequent date changes will not incur a CheckMyFares change fee, but may incur an airline change fee, where applicable.
  7. The booking becomes non-refundable once the Flexi Ticket service has been used.
  8. Consider the date change confirmed once it has been confirmed it through e-mail and a written confirmation is received from customer.
  9. Flexi Tickets are Non-Refundable.
  10. The Flexi Ticket can only be booked and paid for during the booking process.

Our Change and Cancellation Fees

When booking with CheckMyFares.com all fares should be considered non-refundable or unchangeable and incur a 100% cancellation fee from the airline. In the case that a change is approved the following CheckMyFares fees will apply, in addition to any fees imposed by the airline;

  • * Changes to Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings incur a fee of $55 per ticket in addition to supplier fees.

  • * Cancellations to Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings incur a fee of $55 per ticket in addition to supplier fees.

  • * Changes to International bookings (excluding Trans-Tasman) incur a fee of $140 per ticket in addition to supplier fees.

  • * Cancellations to International bookings (excluding Trans-Tasman) incur a fee of $140 per ticket in addition to supplier fees.

Third Party Surcharges

By selecting a credit or Visa/Mastercard debit card as a means of payment you confirm your agreement to the following conditions;

  • If you make any payment by credit or debit card third-party supplier fees may apply, these will be displayed during the booking process on the payment page.

  • If payment for the Services was made to us by credit card, you agree that you will not seek to charge back your credit card payment. If you do charge back to your credit card for any reason where we had to pay an airline, hotel or other Travel Service Provider on your behalf (including but not limited to any double or duplicate booking made by you where we have suffered a loss as a result of this chargeback), we reserve the right to recover that debt from you directly or by handing this over to a debt collection agency and/or a lawyer for collection. You may also be liable for any legal or collection costs.

Missed Flights

We will not be responsible for any loss as a result of a missed flight, arriving at the incorrect airport or terminal, or denied boarding for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to, arriving late, not having the required visas or under the influence of alcohol. It is your responsibility to be at the airport by check-in time and to have the correct visas required.

Some airlines will charge a ‘no show’ fee, if you do not arrive on time for the departure of your flight. If we receive a no-show charge from the airline, we will pass this charge on to you and you agree to be responsible for payment. To avoid no show charges, please ensure you cancel any flights you cannot or do not intend boarding, even if there is no refund. You can cancel with the airline directly online or by phone.

Schedule Changes

Airlines reserve the right to change their scheduled service at any time, and departure times are not guaranteed.

Schedule Changes are the sole responsibility of the traveller. Though CheckMyFares.com will endeavour to notify you of any such changes, there are times when we will not be advised. We will not be held accountable for schedule changes in the event you have not reconfirmed your flights, at any stage.

Travellers will assume total responsibility for any inconveniences caused by failure to check your flights.

CheckMyFares.com strongly recommends you always confirm the airline’s flight schedule a minimum 24 hours prior to departure.

Schedule Changes

If you select the Hold My Booking option, CheckMyFares will hold and guarantee the booking and price upon you paying the deposit shown. Except in some cases, the airline may withdraw or increase the fare, and/or cancel the unticketed booking, without notice. In such cases, CheckMyFares will do all possible to assist you to find a suitable alternative, however we cannot guarantee and may not be able to provide the original itinerary/fare. If this were to happen, then CheckMyFares will refund your deposit in full, and not be responsible for any additional amount that you may need to pay for a higher fare.

The Hold My Booking deposit will be used towards the full payment of the booking you are holding and may not be transferred to a different booking, or to another person. All deposits are non-refundable in the event of a voluntary change on your part regardless of the reason, or if you choose not to go ahead with the booking (subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law). You will need to return to CheckMyFares.com within 96 hours (4 days) of your booking date, to make your final payment. Failure to do so will result in your booking being cancelled and deposit being forfeited. Hold My Booking may not be offered for all airlines and all itineraries. Hold My Booking is a CheckMyFares initiative, so the final payment must be made to CheckMyFares and may not be made to the airline, or through any other source.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, neither CheckMyFares.com nor any of its related bodies corporate, directors, employees or agents accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers over whom we have no direct control, force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control or which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part. Under circumstances where our liability cannot be excluded and where liability may be lawfully limited, such liability is limited to the remedies required of us under applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law). This liability clause is subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
